Wai, my name is Dallas Good Water. I am from and live at Inkumupulux (Head of the Okanagan Lake). My mother is Okanagan and my father is St’atimc. I am a wife, mother of five children and grandmother of two. My position as researcher for the residential school interviews in my community and the resultant personal reflection compelled my participation in the Summer Institute: Nindibaajimomin – Digital Storytelling on the Inter-generational Experiences of Residential Schools.
Me and my grandmother’s story needed to be shared as a testimony to my children and their children and with the larger audience to bring a real life story of colonization to a mainly political, historical and it happened in the past discussion. Lim limpt.
