Hello, my name is Linda Murphy. I am a member of Hollow Water First Nation; my mother is from Berens River, Manitoba. My Mom attended Fort Alexander Residential School for 7 years. I wanted to be a part of this video to show that by re-membering who we are as Indigenous women we can heal, we become resilient, we can create better spaces for our children to grow. I wanted to show that we can stop the cycle of abuse by opening up the dark doors of trauma and building our circles with light and love. Miigwetch to Ka Ni Kanichihk, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, Moon Voices Inc. ladies, Hollow Water, and above all Shannon, Roberta and Sheryl.
